Latest updates in MagicLeap 2
In recent days, MagicLeap has released a software update that includes new capabilities and features taking into account developer and customer feedback.
Features increase user convenience and capabilities in key use cases, e.g. remote production assistance, planning and review of construction projects.
The update also improved hand tracking. Now provides better and more responsive operating system and application performance. The improvements concern areas such as reducing delay and improving gesture classification, support for tracking fast-moving hands. With these improvements, hand tracking is now six times more accurate and ten percent faster than the previous software version.
The update of the display zone adjustment function allows for closer viewing of objects while maintaining a safe boundary that is comfortable for the eyes.
Improved use of maps. Now they are more stable, reliable and of higher quality. This is a very important element because it is responsible for the needs of localization and reconstruction of the world in digital twins for corporate users but also in the public sector, architecture, engineering, construction and entertainment.
Many of the new features included in this update make it faster and easier for developers to build complex enterprise applications that make the most of Magic Leap's advanced features.
The most important changes:
- New debugging tools to troubleshoot and optimize application performance
- Enabling developers and partners to self-service application debugging on secure user-built devices.
- Ability to run profiling tools, decrypt logs and determine whether the problem is in the application or operating system.
- New capture and streaming capabilities to share AR experiences. They improve video capture from the device in first person, as well as viewing in third person.
