Ekointerwencja - an application for reporting environmental offences
Ekointerwencja is a web and smartphone application that can be downloaded by every resident of Krakow and the surrounding area. It was created as part of the activities of the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Province and is intended to help respond to violations of environmental protection regulations.
How to report a problem using the Ekointerwencja application?
To report an offence, it is necessary to launch the Ekointerwencja application in an internet search engine (ekomalopolska.pl/app/ekointerwencja) or download it to your smartphone from the Google Play or App Store. Then, select the location of the incident and indicate it on the map.
We can choose from three categories of reporting:
- air pollution
- waste
- other reporting
If we decide to report a violation, we must fill out a form in which we describe the situation. We can choose who is the perpetrator (resident or company), describe the situation, add attachments such as a video or photos. At the end, we can mark a request for notification when the status of the report changes and thus track the fate of our intervention. If the violation you see has already been reported by someone, it is worth confirming it.
Illegal landfills or burning waste in the furnace as well as other environmental problems can be reported throughout the Małopolska province.
What happens to the reported case?
The reported information is automatically forwarded to the appropriate body, e.g. the president of Krakow or the mayor of the commune. Officials are obliged to check the report, and their implementation will be supervised by the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Province.
