OpenAI has launched a smarter version of ChatGPT. At the same time, it has unveiled a new AI training tool that will allow for the development of highly specialized versions of the "o1" model.

OpenAI and defense technology startup Anduril have partnered to connect AI to Anduril's Lattice defense system. The move is intended to strengthen counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (CUAS) systems.

OpenAI is considering giving Microsoft access to its Advanced General Intelligence (AGI) technology. For now, it is holding off on the decision due to concerns about the misuse of AI. However, OpenAI is moving to a for-profit model, and the move could unlock further investment from its largest backer.

Nvidia has partnered with Italy's iGenius to build the world's largest supercomputer, dubbed Colosseum. The supercomputer is set to be built in Italy, and will be built with 80 of Nvidia's most powerful servers, called GB200 NVL72 machines, each equipped with 72 Blackwell chips. Construction is set to be completed in mid-2025.

Qatari telecommunications operator Ooredoo is set to purchase data centers to house Nvidia AI chips for $1 billion. Ooredoo currently operates 26 data centers in the Middle East.

David Sacks has been named the "White House AI and Crypto Czar" in the incoming Trump administration. Sacks is referred to as the "PayPal Mafia" man, a group of early PayPal employees who went on to create some of the most iconic companies in Silicon Valley. Shortly after his appointment was announced, Bitcoin surpassed $100,000.

Rafał Brzoska Polish billionaire wins deepfake lawsuit against Meta. The court granted him and his family a one-year injunction, meaning Meta will pay a fine
for any deepfake image of Brzoska that appears on Meta's platform in the next 12 months.

Chinese company SenseTime, known for its facial recognition program, has announced a restructuring to focus more on artificial intelligence. After seeing revenue declines, it is now looking to provide genAI solutions in various sectors, including robotics, healthcare, retail, and automotive.
