Freeaim VR Shoes Pro is a professional VR locomotion system designed to let users walk, turn and move in multiple directions inside a virtual environment while remaining within a relatively small physical area. Motorised omnidirectional platforms positioned under the user’s feet compensate for their movement and gradually return them towards the centre of the designated play space.
Freeaim VR Shoes Pro – Professional Natural Locomotion System for Virtual Reality
The Pro edition is intended for business, training, research and simulation applications. The system supports applications running through SteamVR and may be used with solutions developed in Unity and Unreal Engine.
Natural Movement Instead of Joystick Control
Freeaim VR Shoes Pro enables users to control movement in virtual reality through real leg and foot movements. The system supports:
walking forwards and backwards,
walking while changing direction,
turning on the spot,
light jogging,
taking individual side steps,
crouching.
Each shoe uses motor-driven wheel modules. The system detects when the user starts and stops moving and adjusts the speed and acceleration of the platforms to match the user’s movement.
A Compact Alternative to VR Treadmills
Unlike conventional omnidirectional VR treadmills, the Freeaim system is worn directly on the user’s feet. This reduces the amount of space required for installation and makes the solution easier to transport between training rooms, laboratories, events and customer locations.
The manufacturer recommends a minimum operating space of approximately 1.5 × 1.5 metres. Automatic position correction gradually moves the user back towards the centre of the designated area.
Professional Edition for Businesses and Institutions
Freeaim VR Shoes Pro is the professional version of the system, developed for commercial VR installations and customised simulations. Potential applications include:
technical and industrial training,
safety and emergency response simulations,
aviation, maritime and energy-sector training,
warehouse and logistics training,
academic research into movement and user behaviour,
rehabilitation and mobility training,
location-based entertainment,
architectural visualisation and digital twins,
remote robot control and Physical AI development.
The system may also be adapted and integrated to meet the requirements of a specific project.
Integration with VR Applications
Freeaim VR Shoes Pro supports SteamVR on Windows-based computers and can work with applications that use smooth locomotion.
Applications developed in Unity or Unreal Engine may work with the shoes when launched through SteamVR. The professional version is being developed with access to an SDK [Software Development Kit], which may allow integrators to:
retrieve sensor data,
control system behaviour,
manage haptic effects,
develop custom integrations,
adapt the system for specialist simulations.
The exact scope and availability of SDK functionality should be confirmed for each individual order.
Stability and User Support
The package includes a 360-degree support frame that provides an additional point of stability while users learn how to operate the system or perform more dynamic exercises.
According to the manufacturer, most new users can begin walking with the shoes and support frame after approximately five minutes. Some users may require up to 20 minutes to become comfortable with the basic movement system. The actual adaptation time depends on the user’s physical fitness, balance and individual abilities.

Important Information
Freeaim VR Shoes Pro is a specialist device intended for users with an appropriate level of physical fitness and the ability to maintain balance. The support frame improves stability, but the system must be configured in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and operated in a properly secured area.
A VR headset and computer are not included. A compatible VR headset, a computer meeting the requirements of the selected application and the SteamVR environment are required for PC VR operation.
