The Authenticator mini operates offline, with TOTP keys stored in the device's secure hardware chip. It supports over 100 TOTP accounts and the SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 algorithms in compliance with the OATH-TOTP / RFC 6238 standard.
A built-in camera allows for the direct import of TOTP keys from the QR code displayed during 2FA setup. The device also features a color touchscreen, optional PIN protection, and an internal real-time clock. Time synchronization can be performed one-way via an encrypted QR code.

Required software

Standard TOTP authentication
No additional software is required for the basic operation of the Authenticator mini.
The device independently:
- stores TOTP keys,
- generates codes,
- displays them on the screen,
- can transmit the generated code via USB-HID.
It does not require a smartphone app or a constant internet connection for this purpose. Reiner SCT
Authenticator ControlCenter
The manufacturer provides optional Authenticator ControlCenter software for device management. It is not necessary for standard TOTP code generation.
ControlCenter can be used for tasks such as:
- updating the device,
- managing the device,

The current version of Authenticator ControlCenter is designed for:

REINER SCT Login
Optionally, the Authenticator mini can work with REINER SCT Login software, allowing TOTP to be used as a second factor when logging into Windows. However, this is an additional solution, not software required for the operation of the Authenticator mini.
