REINER SCT cyberJack® RFID standard – contact and contactless RFID card reader
Manufacturer: REINER Kartengeräte GmbH & Co. KG, Germany
The cyberJack® RFID standard is a versatile smart card reader designed to handle both contact chip cards and contactless RFID cards. It enables the secure execution of operations requiring electronic identification, authentication, online banking, and electronic signatures.
The device supports contactless cards compliant with ISO/IEC 14443 A/B and contact cards compliant with ISO/IEC 7816. It supports features such as eID, the PACE protocol, FinTS/HBCI banking, Secoder, and FES/QES electronic signatures using compatible contact cards.
A built-in 16-key keypad allows for secure PIN entry directly on the device, while a 2×16 character LCD displays information related to the operation being performed. The reader is classified as a Security Class 3 device and a Standard Reader CAT-S according to BSI TR-03119.
The cyberJack® RFID standard also features Secoder functionality, secure card communication, the ability to securely update firmware, and physical tamper protection. The manufacturer highlights BSI certification and TÜV-IT validation.

Required Software
To use the reader with a computer, the appropriate cyberJack DriverPackage (REINER SCT driver) is required. The manufacturer provides drivers for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The current Windows package supports 64-bit versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11, including Windows 11 on ARM processors.
On Windows, the manufacturer's package includes the cyberJack® ControlCenter, which is used for tasks such as device diagnostics, functionality checks, configuration, and firmware updates. ControlCenter is not available for macOS or Linux; the manufacturer specifies that firmware updates must be performed using Windows in these cases.
Depending on the specific use case, additional third-party software and a suitable card may also be required. This applies, for example, to online banking, qualified electronic signatures, electronic identification, and public administration systems. The manufacturer explicitly notes that specific applications and/or smart cards may be necessary for certain use cases.
