K-REX Console – USB Drive Decontamination Station

K-REX Console is a professional, stationary removable drive decontamination station designed to detect and remove threats transmitted via USB drives and other storage devices. The device allows you to check the drive before connecting it to the protected IT or OT infrastructure, reducing the risk of malware infiltrating enterprise networks, industrial systems, and isolated environments.

K-REX Console utilizes multi-layered security analysis, allowing for the simultaneous use of up to five antivirus engines and two anti-malware engines. The system also supports the detection of BadUSB attacks and APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) threats.

The device is designed as a standalone checkpoint. The user connects the drive to the station, selects the analysis scope, and the system checks its contents before allowing data into the protected infrastructure. Detected threats can be quarantined or removed in accordance with the adopted security policy.

K-REX Console can operate as a single station or as part of a larger TYREX system including central station management and optional endpoint computer protection.

Available K-REX Console Variants

The K-REX Console can be configured depending on the required communication method:

K-REX Console Ethernet – wired communication,
K-REX Console Wi-Fi – wireless communication,
K-REX Console 4G – communication via a cellular network,
K-REX Console 5G – communication via a 5G cellular network,
K-REX Console Offline / Air Gap – a version designed for operation without a network connection.

Offline mode allows the device to be used in isolated systems and Air Gap environments. Updates can then be delivered via controlled USB drives.

Required Software

The K-REX Console is a plug-and-play solution and does not require the installation of additional software on a separate computer for basic operation.

The device has its own environment:

KUBIAN OS – the device's operating system based on Debian Linux,
integrated antivirus and anti-malware engines,
software responsible for scanning, decontamination, reporting, and media management.

Optionally, the system can be expanded with:

TYREX Management Server – a central administration and monitoring platform for multiple TYREX stations; available as SaaS, Dedicated SaaS, On-Premise, and for offline environments.

TYREX Workstation Protect Agent – an optional agent for Windows and Linux computers that verifies whether the connected media has been previously verified and approved by the TYREX station.

TYREX Hardware Agent / SecLab S-XU – an optional hardware protection layer designed primarily for critical industrial environments and OT infrastructure.

The Workstation Protect Agent can restrict or completely block access to media content that has not been previously verified by an authorized TYREX station.

Central Management

For deployments involving multiple stations, the TYREX Management Server can be used. The platform enables, among other things:

central station configuration,
security policy management,
user, role, and permission management,
station performance monitoring,
update management,
central reporting,
event logging,
integration with SIEM solutions,
supervision of distributed stations located in different locations.

The Management Server can operate as a SaaS solution, a dedicated SaaS solution, on-premises, or in an isolated environment.

Applications

K-REX Console is designed for organizations where data exchange via USB drives is necessary, but directly connecting unverified devices to the infrastructure poses a security risk.

Typical applications:

critical infrastructure,
OT and ICS systems,
industrial and manufacturing plants,
energy,
defense sector,
public administration,
transport and logistics,
aerospace,
maritime sector,
laboratories and research facilities,
environments with limited or completely disconnected internet access,
Air Gap networks,
entry points for technical and service personnel,
control of media provided by subcontractors and external partners.

K-REX Console allows you to create a controlled entry point for data transferred on removable media. This allows USB drives to be verified and approved before being used in a protected IT or OT environment.
