The NuEyes Pro 4 is a lightweight, binocular AR/MR (Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality) smart glasses designed primarily for people with low vision, as well as for business, industrial, medical, and remote support applications.
The device functions primarily as a head-mounted external display. When connected to a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer, the image from the host device is presented on two OLED screens in front of the user's eyes.
The glasses do not have their own battery. They are powered by the connected device via a USB-C cable, so they do not require a separate charger.
A physical USB-C port is not sufficient for operation. The phone, tablet, or computer must support USB-C image transfer, i.e., DisplayPort or DisplayPort Alt Mode output.
The integrated camera enables, among other things, magnification of the surroundings, text reading, remote assistance, work documentation, and image transfer from the user's perspective. The low-vision version offers magnification from 1x to 12x, color and contrast adjustments, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and Text-to-Speech (text read aloud).
The manufacturer describes the Pro 4 as assistive technology, not a medical device. This product is not FDA-approved and is not intended to treat or reverse eye conditions.

Software Required for Operation

Standard and DoD/Federal Versions

Dedicated NuEyes software is not required for basic image display.
The host device must support DisplayPort image output over USB-C.
When connected, the glasses automatically display the screen of your phone, tablet, or computer.
The manufacturer does not publish an up-to-date, exhaustive list of compatible devices, so please verify compatibility with a specific model before purchasing.

Camera Support

The built-in camera is not automatically available in all applications.
The instructions recommend using an external app on your phone that supports USB cameras, such as "USB Camera."

Low Vision Smart Bundle Version

Requires the patented NuEyes Low Vision software.
The software is included with your Samsung Galaxy phone.

It is responsible for zooming, contrast and color adjustments, OCR, and Text-to-Speech.

The manufacturer does not provide the exact Samsung phone model, Android version, or a full list of supported languages ​​on its current website.

Business and Industrial Applications

The optional Blitzz Remote Assist solution is available.
It enables two-way audio-video communication, user-perspective image sharing, image highlighting, screen and file sharing, and photo and video storage.
Blitzz is not required for basic glasses operation.

Disadvantages and Limitations

The glasses are not a fully autonomous device – they must be connected to a phone, tablet, or computer via a cable.
The USB-C cable may restrict freedom of movement and requires proper positioning during use.
Not every phone or computer equipped with USB-C will be compatible. DisplayPort support is required.
The glasses draw power from the host device, reducing its battery life.
Actual operating time depends on the phone model, processor load, camera usage, display brightness, and applications.
The 43° field of view is sufficient for displaying information and the supporting image, but will be significantly narrower than in large, immersive VR/MR headsets.
Access to the built-in camera may require installing an additional app.
The lack of an up-to-date, official list of compatible phones and computers makes it difficult to clearly confirm compatibility before purchase.
The manufacturer does not provide information on the Pro 4's website regarding screen brightness, refresh rate, diopter adjustment range, exact dimensions, and IP rating, among other things.
