MYVU Air Subtitle Glasses are smart AR (Augmented Reality) glasses designed, among others, for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The device converts speech to text and displays subtitles in real time directly in the user's field of view.
The glasses were developed by the MYVU brand, part of the Xingji Meizu Group. Hearview is not their manufacturer, but rather the official distributor and recommends them as the successor to its own, discontinued Hearview Subtitle Glasses model.
MYVU Air uses two synchronized displays, allowing subtitles to be presented to both eyes. The previous Hearview model displayed text to only one eye.

The glasses can be used to:
display subtitles during calls,
translate speech in real time,
present navigation directions,
receive notifications from your phone,
use a teleprompter,
handle phone calls,
use a voice assistant,
play music through the built-in speakers.

The manufacturer has implemented two noise-canceling microphones during calls and two built-in speakers that limit sound dispersion over longer distances.
Control is via a touchpad located on the earpiece, a physical button, voice commands, or an optional smart ring.
The manufacturer has implemented a glasses wearer sensor that detects whether the device is on the user's head.

Available Models and Variants
Hearview offers one basic hardware model: the MYVU Air Subtitle Glasses.
The Hearview sales page offers two color variants:
- Blue – blue,
- Black – black.
The official Meizu specifications list a wider range of finish variants:
- Force Blue,
- Force Blue Tortoise Shell,
- Enamel Gray,
- Enamel Gray Tortoise Shell,
- Dazzling Sand,
- Dazzling Sand Tortoise Shell.
Availability of all six variants varies by country and distributor. Not all are offered directly by Hearview.

An optional frame for mounting prescription lenses is available. The prescription lenses themselves must be fabricated by an optician or other optical service provider.
An optional sun visor for the MYVU Air is also available.
The MYVU Air should not be confused with the MYVU StarV Air2. The Air2 is a separate, later model from Meizu with a different design and specifications. Hearview currently offers the entry-level MYVU Air as a successor to its glasses.

Software Required for Operation

A compatible smartphone and the MYVU AR app are required to use subtitles, translations, navigation, notifications, and other features.

The MYVU AR app is responsible for:
connecting the phone to the glasses,

notification forwarding,
call management,
teleprompter,
glasses settings,
voice assistant operation.

The app is available for:
iOS and
Android.

The Apple version requires iOS 13.0 or later.

The app can also be run on Mac computers with an Apple M1 processor or later and macOS 11 or later, but the primary method of using the glasses remains connecting to a smartphone.
The Android app is available on Google Play, but the manufacturer does not clearly specify the minimum Android version in the publicly accessible section of the app.
The glasses are not a completely standalone transcription device. Most features require an active phone connection and the MYVU AR app running.
The glasses connect to the phone via Bluetooth. They can also work with devices such as hearing aids, headphones, and smartwatches, although the range of available features will depend on the compatibility of each device.
