The EMOTIV MN8 are compact, wireless in-ear headphones equipped with a dual-channel EEG system that allows you to record brain electrical activity during daily activities. The device combines the functionality of wireless headphones with EEG technology, allowing you to simultaneously listen to music, podcasts, participate in calls and meetings, and record EEG signals.

The MN8 utilizes two measurement channels located in the left and right ear canals and four reference points. The dry sensors are made of non-toxic and hypoallergenic conductive elastomer, eliminating the need for gel or saline solution. According to the manufacturer, setup takes less than a minute.

The EEG signal is internally sampled at 8 kHz, filtered, and downsampled to 128 samples per second. The MN8 offers a resolution of 14 bits per channel, a dynamic range of ±4.17 mV, and real-time electrode contact quality monitoring.

An integrated 6-axis motion sensor also records head movement and orientation. The device uses Bluetooth Low Energy and Bluetooth Classic for audio transmission. The built-in microphone allows for phone calls and participation in meetings without interrupting brain activity measurements.

The EMOTIV MN8 can be used for monitoring cognitive performance and concentration, as well as for research and educational projects, and EEG-based applications. The device is compatible with the EMOTIV software ecosystem, including EmotivPRO.
