Integrated Biometrics Danno

Manufacturer: Integrated Biometrics, USA

The Integrated Biometrics Danno is an exceptionally compact, professional FAP 30-class single-fingerprint scanner that is FBI PIV certified and compliant with FIPS 201 and Mobile ID FAP 30 requirements. It is designed primarily for mobile systems, embedded devices, and OEM solutions where minimal dimensions, low weight, low power consumption, and certified fingerprint image quality are critical.

Danno utilizes Integrated Biometrics' patented LES (Light Emitting Sensor) Active Optical technology. This allows for the capture of 500 ppi fingerprint images without the need for conventional, bulky optics based on glass prisms. The LES sensor operates in both direct and indirect sunlight and is resistant to common finger contaminants such as water, grease, oil, dust, and chemicals.

The device captures flat single-finger images and can be used for biometric enrollment, identification, and verification. The sensor supports automatic image capture detection and includes mechanisms to protect against common spoofing attempts using artificial fingerprints. LES technology leverages the electrical properties of human skin, making it difficult to activate the sensor with typical imitations made of materials such as silicone, glue, or rubber.

Danno is distinguished by its very compact size. The OEM version weighs approximately 20 g and measures just 40 × 42.9 × 8 mm, allowing it to be integrated into mobile terminals, portable devices, and other biometric systems where space is limited.

Additionally, starting in 2025, the current generation of Danno supports 256-bit AES encryption and RSA algorithms, enhancing the protection of biometric data during communication with the host system.

From August 2026, Integrated Biometrics also offers Danno Desktop—a version housed in a compact desktop casing. It retains the FAP 30 functionality and image quality of the Danno platform but is designed as a ready-to-use device for enrollment, identification, and verification stations.

Required Software

The IBScanUltimate SDK (Software Development Kit) from Integrated Biometrics is used to communicate with the Danno scanner and integrate the device with the application.

IBScanUltimate is a unified SDK platform for certified Integrated Biometrics scanners, enabling integrators to develop their own biometric data capture solutions.

The IBScanUltimate SDK includes:
device drivers
API (Application Programming Interface)
API documentation
Integrated Biometrics software components
demonstration applications
sample source code for supported platforms
single-finger image capture functions
multi-device support
multi-threaded application support
NFIQ image quality assessment mechanisms
support for standard biometric data formats
Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) mechanisms
automatic fingerprint capture timing detection
communication encryption support

The IBScanUltimate SDK is neither a complete AFIS nor an identity management system. It provides the software layer required to operate the scanner. A host application—such as a user enrollment system, biometric identification system, KYC system, e-ID solution, access control system, or a custom integrator application utilizing the Integrated Biometrics API—is required for the final deployment.

Applications

Integrated Biometrics Danno is designed primarily for systems requiring a compact, certified single-finger scanner, particularly where small size and low power consumption are critical.

Typical applications include:

single-fingerprint enrollment
biometric person identification
identity verification
