TCL NXTWEAR is a family of glasses that function as a portable personal display. When connected to a smartphone, tablet, or computer, the glasses display an image equivalent to viewing a screen approximately 140 inches diagonally from a distance of 4 meters. However, this is not a physical screen of this size, but rather its optically perceived equivalent. The devices utilize two Full HD Micro-OLED displays and built-in speakers.

HDMI Note
The TCL NXTWEAR AIR specification lists HDMI in the connections section, but the product page also indicates that devices without a DisplayPort output require an additional adapter. So don't assume the glasses have a standard, full-size HDMI input. In practice, connecting a console or computer via HDMI will require a compatible HDMI to USB-C adapter with adequate power.
Required Software and Compatibility
No dedicated software is required for standard 2D image display;
The source device must support USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode image transfer;
The mere presence of a USB-C port does not guarantee compatibility – many phones only support charging and data transfer via USB-C;
Smartphones, tablets, laptops, and hybrid devices compatible with DisplayPort Alternate Mode may be supported;
The glasses do not have their own wireless connection;
Wireless connection requires a separate adapter or transmitter;
Devices without DisplayPort, including some phones and consoles, require an additional adapter.
TCL NXTWEAR G
Basic image display is plug-and-play, without an app;
The manufacturer provides the SmartGlasses V1.0 app as an APK file for Android on the support page;
The app is not required for basic image mirroring, but may be required for additional spatial features or support for special modes.
TCL NXTWEAR AIR
The app is not required for regular 2D viewing;
The manufacturer requires the TCL AR app to use the 3D feature;
TCL AR is designed for compatible Android devices;
The manufacturer advises that the TCL AR app does not support computers or iPhones;
When connecting an iPhone or device without DisplayPort via an adapter, only 2D mirroring may be available;
Not all features are available on all Android phones.
