ROKID AR LINE – GLASSES FOR AUGMENTED REALITY AND PRIVATE VIRTUAL DISPLAYS

Rokid AR Line is a line of lightweight glasses equipped with two OLED displays that create a virtual screen in front of the user. The glasses can be used for watching movies, gaming, working on a computer, displaying presentations, and using Android apps.

How it works: The basic Rokid Max 2 glasses are not a standalone computer. They function as an external display when connected to a compatible phone, computer, console, or Rokid Station.

Extended functionality: When you connect Rokid Max 2 to Rokid Station 2, you receive an AR Spatial headset that supports 3DoF image stabilization and a multi-screen environment.

3DoF [Three Degrees of Freedom]: Tracks head rotation on three axes—left and right, up and down, and tilt. The image can remain stationary in a selected location while the head moves. However, the system does not track forward, backward, or side-to-side head movement like 6DoF solutions.

Declared image size: The manufacturer describes an experience equivalent to a cinema screen with a diagonal of approximately 300 inches. The specifications for the glasses themselves also state an apparent screen size of up to 360 inches at a distance of 10 meters. This is the perceived size of the virtual image, not the actual physical diagonal of the screen.

AVAILABLE MODELS AND KITS

Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses: Glasses only, designed to be connected to an external video source. This is the basic version for users with a compatible phone, laptop, portable computer, console, or their own HDMI adapter.

Rokid AR Joy 2: A set consisting of the Rokid Max 2 glasses and the portable Rokid Station device running Android TV. This version is primarily intended for watching movies, using streaming services, and wirelessly streaming video.

Rokid AR Spatial: The most advanced set, including the Rokid Max 2 glasses and the Rokid Station 2 device, provides 3DoF spatial capabilities, the ability to place windows in space, and use multiple apps simultaneously.

Rokid Station: A portable Android TV player, offered as part of the AR Joy 2 set, among other things. It does not provide the full AR Spatial multi-screen experience.

Rokid Station 2: a more powerful computing unit running YodaOS-Master, designed for spatial functions, multi-screen work and running Android apps.

REQUIRED SOFTWARE AND DEVICES

Basic use of the Rokid Max 2: No need to install the dedicated Rokid app. The glasses function as an external monitor when receiving a compatible video signal.
Required source device connection: USB-C supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode, which transfers video over USB-C.
Compatible devices: Select Android phones, iPhones with USB-C ports, Windows laptops, MacBooks, Steam Deck, and other devices that support USB-C video output.
Phones without DisplayPort Alt Mode: Require an additional adapter, a wireless display device, or Rokid Station.
HDMI output devices: HDMI consoles, computers, and players require a suitable active HDMI to USB-C adapter with power and signal conversion support.
AR Spatial features: Requires Rokid Station 2 and YodaOS Master. The Max 2 glasses alone do not provide a 3DoF spatial environment or support for multi-docked windows. AR Joy 2 Kit: Uses Android TV installed on Rokid Station.
Rokid app for Android and iOS: This is an optional app. It can be used for device management, file transfer, select Station 2 features, and converting 3D content on compatible iPhones, among other things.
The Rokid app is not required: for simple display from a compatible computer, phone, or console.
