Visor

Visor 4K is a lightweight XR headset designed primarily for work, multitasking and the use of multiple virtual displays. Two 4K micro-OLED displays, colour passthrough, eye and hand tracking, and full 6DoF positional tracking make it possible to create a portable workspace almost anywhere.

Visor 4K is a spatial computing device developed by Immersed primarily for people working with computers. Unlike general-purpose VR headsets focused on gaming, Visor has been optimised for productivity, multitasking, remote collaboration and replacing a traditional multi-monitor setup with multiple virtual displays.

Two micro-OLED displays with 4K resolution per eye provide high readability of text, application interfaces, documents, spreadsheets and multimedia content. Its compact design and support for both wired and wireless connections make it possible to create an extensive workspace in an office, at home, in a hotel or while travelling.

Multiple virtual displays

Visor allows users to display multiple computer screens within their surrounding space. The manufacturer states that the headset supports five or more displays, which can be positioned, resized and arranged according to individual preferences.

Virtual monitors can use standard, panoramic or ultrawide aspect ratios. Users can place them in front of themselves, on either side or at different distances, creating a workspace adapted to a specific type of work.

4K micro-OLED displays

Visor uses two micro-OLED displays with 4K resolution per eye. This technology provides high image detail, clear text, deep blacks and accurate colour reproduction.

A 100° field of view makes it possible to view several screens and elements of the digital environment at the same time. It is wider than the field of view offered by many lightweight display glasses designed only to show content from an external device.

Mixed reality and colour passthrough

HD Colour Passthrough cameras provide a colour view of the physical environment. This allows users to work in mixed reality mode while seeing both virtual displays and elements of their physical workspace.

When required, users can also isolate themselves from their surroundings and switch to a more immersive virtual environment. This can help reduce external distractions and improve concentration on the task being performed.

Eye and hand tracking

Built-in eye and hand tracking enables natural interaction with the digital environment. Users can select and operate interface elements using their gaze and gestures, without the need for traditional VR controllers.

Full 6DoF tracking, meaning six degrees of freedom, detects both head rotation and the user’s movement through physical space. As a result, virtual displays remain securely positioned in the selected locations.

Wired and wireless operation

Visor can work with computers running:

The headset connects to a computer through USB-C or wirelessly using the Immersed Desktop Agent application. The device does not support DisplayPort connectivity.

Wireless connection to smartphones and tablets running iOS or Android is also possible through the Immersed mobile application.

A wired connection provides higher performance and more stable data transmission, while wireless operation offers greater freedom of movement and makes it easier to use the headset away from a traditional workstation.

Standalone operation

Visor is a standalone device powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform. The headset can run the Immersed application and operate as a standalone browser, although full use of the virtual workspace functions requires a connection to a computer or mobile device.

According to the manufacturer, the external battery provides up to approximately three hours of operation without being connected to a power source.

Design tailored to the user

Visor is designed as a personal device. During preparation of the headset, a facial scan is performed to determine and customise elements including:

interpupillary distance, or IPD,
the nose insert,
the light-blocking component.

The supported IPD range is 55 to 72 mm. Visor does not feature a conventional lens-spacing adjustment mechanism, which means that it is not intended to be freely shared between users with significantly different interpupillary distances.

The set includes both side arms, intended mainly for shorter sessions, and a stabilising head strap, which may improve comfort during longer periods of use.

Vision correction

Due to the compact design, standard prescription glasses cannot be worn underneath the headset. The manufacturer offers optional prescription lens inserts adapted to the user’s eyesight prescription.

Audio

Visor does not include built-in speakers. Audio can be played through a computer, smartphone, wired headphones or wireless headphones. Removing the integrated audio system has allowed the manufacturer to reduce the weight and dimensions of the device.
