The AiQ Synertial G6 Glove is a professional glove for inertial motion capture of the hand and fingers. The system uses IMUs (inertial measurement units) located on the palm and fingers to capture the orientation and movement of individual hand segments without the need for optical cameras.
The glove is primarily intended for biomechanical research, robotics, 3D animation, virtual reality, ergonomic design, industrial simulation, and capturing precise hand movements. The manufacturer offers several configurations varying in the number of sensors and finger accuracy.

Key Features:
Inertial hand motion tracking without a camera system;
Motion capture at a rate of 200 frames per second;
Gyroscopes with a range of up to 4000°/s;
Accelerometers with a range of ±16g;
Wired, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth communication—depending on the configuration;
Compatible with PCs, Android, and iOS devices;
Integration with Unity, Unreal Engine, MotionBuilder, Siemens PLM, and OptiTrack Motive;
Data export to BVH and FBX formats, among others;
The ability to monitor the status of individual sensors;
Separate calibration of the glove and the body motion capture system;
A solution resistant to the loss of visibility typical of camera systems;
The ability to work outside of a traditional optical motion capture lab.
Available Variants
The Synertial Glove is part of the G6 family of configurations.
12-Sensor Glove
Uses 12 IMU modules. Sensors are placed on the proximal and middle phalanges of the fingers, while the movement of some of the distal phalanges is calculated by the software.
This is a universal variant, intended for:
animation;
virtual reality;
industrial design;
ergonomic research;
training;
typical research projects that do not require measurement of every finger segment.
16-Sensor Glove
Uses 16 IMU modules and provides the most comprehensive measurement of all configurations.
Sensors are located on almost all phalanges, except the distal phalanx of the little finger. The system also includes a sensor that records the movement of the fifth metacarpal bone.
The manufacturer positions this variant specifically for:
medical research;
hand biomechanics;
robotics;
grip analysis;
teaching robotic manipulation;
Research on precise hand movements;
Projects where data quality is more important than system cost.
Technical Specifications
IMU Sensors
Type: Inertial Measurement Units;
Number of sensors: Depends on configuration, including 12 or 16;
Gyroscope range: Up to 4000°/s;
Accelerometer range: ±16 g;
Dimensions of a single IMU module in the 16-sensor variant: Approximately 5 × 13 × 18 mm;
Declared sensor technology: 15-axis, resistant to measurement saturation during rapid movements.
Motion Capture
Capture rate: 200 FPS;
Records orientation and movement of hand segments;
Can operate in real time;
Can record, playback, and export sessions;
Timestamps enable synchronization with other systems;
Synchronization with a full body motion capture system;
Can be integrated with optical systems.
Communication Hub
Communication: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or wired connection;
Supported platforms: PC, Android, and iOS;
Hub dimensions: approximately 65 x 65 x 20 mm;
Power supply voltage: 3.3–5 V;
Operating voltage: 3.3 V;
Compatible with a GPS module;
Internal storage of multiple measurement files.
The manufacturer's claim of "unlimited number of files" does not imply a confirmed infinite memory capacity.
Power Supply
Declared battery life: approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes;
Extended battery life can be extended by replacing the power source;
Wireless configuration may require an external 5V power bank;
The hub and power bank are attached to the user with straps.
Glove Material
Textile material: 80% nylon Lycra;
20% spandex;
Electronics can be transferred between compatible textile components, which can facilitate sizing, servicing and replacing a worn glove.
Software Required for Operation
SynDash Lite
Basic software for operating the glove.
Enables:
real-time motion viewing;
data recording;
playback of recordings;
saving sessions;
export to BVH and FBX;
view sensor status;
detect dropped frames;
load skeleton files;
access to raw data;
support for hybrid configurations.
The extended version of the program includes the features of SynDash Lite, plus:
modifying skeleton models;
saving modified skeletons;
working with multiple systems;
additional analysis and configuration features.
SynShow
A diagnostic program primarily used for:
device discovery;
checking communication;
diagnosing sensors;
troubleshooting connection issues.
This is not the primary data logging environment.
Drivers
The wired version requires the installation of the appropriate USB driver. During initial setup, you may need to manually check the COM port number in Windows.
License and Internet Access
SynDash requires a license key. According to the current manufacturer's manual, the software performs a license check upon startup and requires a reconnection to the internet every three days.
This is a very important limitation for:
networks separated from the internet;
laboratories with a high level of security;
military environments;
installations using air gaps;
facilities where network traffic must be validated.
Secured licensing for environments without wireless communication is available; the terms of such implementation must be agreed upon individually.
Integrations
The manufacturer lists integrations or plug-ins for:
Unity;
Unreal Engine 4;
Autodesk MotionBuilder;
Siemens PLM;
Siemens Jack;
Siemens Process Simulate Human;
OptiTrack Motive;
systems using the HTC Vive;
MIDI;
optical systems such as Motive and Shogun.
