Software Required for Operation
Gazepoint Control
Gazepoint Control software, installed as part of the Gazepoint software package, is required for device configuration and calibration.
Gazepoint Control is responsible for, among other things:
launching and operating the eye tracker,
displaying an image of the user's eyes,
setting the correct user position,
performing calibration,
sharing device data with other applications.
The manufacturer recommends downloading the installer from its Downloads page. The download section is password-protected, which, according to the FAQ, is included with the shipment.
Open Gaze API and SDK
The Hardware Only version includes the API (Application Programming Interface) and SDK (Software Development Kit).
The API allows you to create your own applications that receive data from the GP3. The manufacturer states that:
the application can be developed in any language supporting TCP/IP communication,
data is transmitted in XML format,
the installation package includes sample code,
the API provides data on gaze position, fixations, pupils, measurement time, cursor position, and screen parameters, among other things.
Gazepoint Analysis Professional – optional
Gazepoint Analysis Professional is a separately licensed software designed for preparing, recording, and analyzing eye tracking studies.
The program offers, among other things:
heat maps,
fixation path visualization,
screen recording,
image, video, and web page support,
multiple participant data aggregation,
dynamic AOIs (Areas of Interest),
image, video, and statistical data export.
Gazepoint Analysis UX – optional
Gazepoint Analysis UX includes the features of the Professional edition, plus:
recording participant voice in Think Aloud mode,
recording webcam video,
visualization of biometric data after connecting the appropriate hardware,
functions designed for UX and cognitive research.
Gazepoint Analysis is licensed for a single computer. A single license cannot be used simultaneously on multiple workstations.
