The device combines a transparent AR display, ambient recognition, hand tracking, voice control, artificial intelligence (AI), open-ear audio, and apps the manufacturer calls Lenses.

SPECS are standalone augmented reality (AR) glasses developed by Snap to display digital information directly in the user's field of view.

The device combines a transparent AR display, ambient recognition, hand tracking, voice control, artificial intelligence (AI), open-ear audio, and apps the manufacturer calls Lenses.

The glasses can be used for things like displaying navigation directions, using AI assistants, working on virtual screens, viewing multimedia content, learning, taking measurements, and enjoying shared AR experiences.

SPECS are a standalone device – they do not require a wired connection to an external computing module or additional "puck."

Technical Specifications

Frame construction: Lightweight and durable Swiss TR90 polymer.
Available frame sizes:
- Narrow Fit – 47 mm,
- Wide Fit – 52 mm.
Weight:
-132 g for the 47 mm version,
-136 g for the 52 mm version.
Display type: Transparent waveguide display with proprietary LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology.
Field of view: 51°.
Number of displayed colors: 16 million.
The image remains visible against the background of the actual surroundings, without obscuring the user's entire field of vision.
According to the manufacturer, the image size can be equivalent to approximately a 24-inch monitor while working or a 115-inch screen viewed from a distance of approximately 3 meters.
Electrochromic lenses automatically or programmatically change the tint from clear to dark. Lens transition time from clear to dark mode: approximately 10 seconds.
Processors: Two Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets:
- one dedicated to image processing and ambient recognition,
- the other dedicated to the AR Lenses app.
Motion-to-photon latency [time from user movement to image update]: 7 ms.
Controls:
- hand gestures,
- pointing and pinching,
- voice commands,
- optional control via mobile device.
Audio:
- two open-ear stereo speakers,
- microphones built into the frame,
- ability to listen to audio without completely blocking out your surroundings.
Battery life: up to 4 hours with mixed use including AR apps, AI features, Bluetooth notifications, and audio and video playback.
The charging case provides four additional full charges.
Total claimed use time with the case: up to 20 hours. Charging interface: magnetic 5-pin connector.
Wired streaming via a compatible USB-C cable from a computer, phone, or game console is also supported.
The glasses can be powered by wire for extended use.

Privacy Policy

The glasses feature a visible LED indicator that lights up during recording.
Apps' access to the camera, microphone, location, and other sensitive data requires granting appropriate permissions.
The manufacturer prioritizes local processing on the device.
However, some AI features may send data to external services, such as OpenAI or Google Gemini, if the user grants the app the appropriate permissions and uses an app that utilizes such services.

Software Required for Operation

Operating System: Snap OS, installed directly in the glasses.
Basic operation does not require an external computer or separate computing module.
The device's functionality is expanded using AR apps called Lenses.
An internet connection may be required to use internet features, AI, speech recognition, translation, maps, location services, and shared experiences.
Bluetooth notifications, content streaming, some mobile controllers, and selected communication features require a connection to a compatible phone or other device. The manufacturer has not yet released a complete list of compatible phones, minimum iOS and Android versions, or a detailed initial consumer setup procedure.
The virtual frame size tool requires an iPhone XS or newer. This requirement pertains to the Virtual Try-On feature, not the glasses themselves.
Lens Studio is required only for developers creating their own AR apps and experiences. Regular users do not need to install Lens Studio.

Translation

Translation is not currently described as a single, guaranteed system feature available across all glasses and languages.
Translation functions are implemented by dedicated Lenses applications and artificial intelligence services.
The Super Travel app, presented by Snap, enables translation of visible signs, menus, and receipts, as well as currency conversion.
Visual translation involves analyzing camera images and presenting translated text in the user's field of view as a digital AR layer.
The platform also enables the development of applications using speech recognition, transcription, language models, and speech synthesis, making live subtitles or translation read aloud through speakers technically possible.
However, the manufacturer has not confirmed that the conversation translation feature will be standardly available on the device's launch date.
It has also not been confirmed whether the Super Travel app supports translation from or into Polish.
