The bHaptics TactSuit Pro is a wireless haptic vest equipped with 32 independently controlled vibration motors located on the front and back of the torso. The device converts events occurring in a game, simulation, or multimedia content into spatial haptic stimuli.

The vest can, among other things, reproduce:
the direction of impact or hit,
an explosion,
contact with an object,
weapon recoil,
engine or vehicle operation,
raindrops and environmental elements,
musical rhythm,
programmed warning and training signals.

The best results are achieved with applications with native bHaptics integration, as the app can then trigger specific motors in the appropriate location, with the specified intensity, duration, and sequence. For content without native integration, Audio-to-Haptics mode is available, which generates vibrations based on sound, but does not provide such precise event reproduction.

However, simply connecting the vest to the platform does not guarantee that every application will offer spatial haptics. A specific program or game must have native integration, an official or community bHaptics mod, or utilize the Audio-to-Haptics feature. The manufacturer provides a search engine for compatible content with filters by platform, device, and type of support.

Software Required for Operation

bHaptics Player
A basic application for:
pairing and managing the vest,
checking device status,
adjusting intensity,
testing individual touchpoints,
launching compatible games,
supporting Audio-to-Haptics,
installing and using haptic profiles.
On a Windows computer, the vest is paired via the bHaptics Player, usually using the included Bluetooth adapter. After initial pairing, the device can connect automatically on subsequent launches. A PC version of the Player is also available for Mac computers with Apple Silicon processors, although support for specific applications may differ from the Windows environment.

bHaptics VR Player
An application designed to operate bHaptics devices in the Meta Quest environment, including pairing the vest and using compatible VR applications.

bHaptics Mobile Player
A mobile application used, among other things, to manage the device and support selected configurations, including applications related to PlayStation VR2.

bHaptics Studio
A tool for creating audio-to-haptics profiles. It allows you to specify, among other things:
sound frequency ranges,
volume ranges,
the location of activated points,
the intensity of the response,
the method of converting sound into vibrations.

Profiles can be used in the bHaptics Player and shared with other users.

bHaptics Designer
A tool for designing your own haptic effects. It allows you to create:
single vibration points,
paths moving across the vest,
continuous 360-degree patterns,
effects synchronized with video or other material,
multi-layered sequences spanning multiple bHaptics devices.
The Designer is particularly important for designing your own training, research, and demonstration applications.

bHaptics SDK

To integrate the vest with your own software, the manufacturer provides SDKs (Software Development Kits) for:
Unity,
Unreal Engine,
Python,
JavaScript. The SDK allows the application to trigger appropriate haptic events in response to events occurring in the simulation. The developer must create a project in the bHaptics Developer Portal, prepare haptic patterns, and implement the effect calls in the application code.
