LiDAR

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a technology that uses a laser beam to accurately measure distances and create 3D maps of the surroundings. LIDAR systems scan spaces in real time, enabling precise mapping of the shapes, distances, and movements of objects.

LIDARs are used in automotive applications (autonomous vehicles), robotics, drones, surveying, terrain mapping, as well as in VR and AR, where they support position tracking, interaction with virtual objects, and the creation of realistic 3D environments. It is a key technology for advanced navigation systems and immersive digital experiences.
